Your foreign driver's license is legal in Mexico. Over the past decade, most of the streets of Cabo, the the Tourist Corridor (the 20-mile stretch between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose) have been paved, so now there is no real need for a jeep to get around.

Los Cabos is a great place for day trips including Todos Los Santos, an artist and writer town, 1 hour North and also La Paz, the capital of Baja California Sur, two hours from the Cabo area.

You can close the 250 mile loop by returning to Los Cabos via the Sea of Cortez and the East Cape side. This loop includes mining towns such as Triunfo and San Antonio, San Bartolo, Los Barriles, Buena Vista, to return to Los Cabos from the East Cape dirt road or paved State Highway 1 that runs past Santiago and Miraflores. Don't forget to enjoy Cabo Pulmo's largest coral reef (and wildlife preserve) in America.
