A man-made rock breakwater shelters the cove, and that’s what makes swimming possible here. Stay inside the protected water, and if the flag is yellow or red, wait for a calmer day.
Tequila Cove Beach, also called Playa El Bledito, is on the Tourist Corridor around Km 19.5, in front of the Hilton Los Cabos and its neighbors. A breakwater turns this cove into a calm place to swim. It’s a public beach, like every beach in Mexico, even though the hotels give it the feel of a resort beach.

Can you swim at Tequila Cove Beach?
Yes. A man-made rock breakwater shelters the cove, and that’s what makes swimming possible here. Stay inside the protected water, and if the flag is yellow or red, wait for a calmer day.
How to get to Tequila Cove Beach
Public access is through the arroyo at about Km 19.5 of the Transpeninsular Highway (Highway 1), or through the hotels if you’re a guest. Mexican law makes all beaches public, so you’re welcome on the sand even if you aren’t staying at a resort.
Local tips before you go
- 1Swim inside the breakwater, not off the rocks.
- 2Bring your own shade and water if you aren’t a hotel guest.
- 3Check the flag before you go in, even on a sunny day.
Check the beach flag
Los Cabos beaches use colored flags: green means good conditions, yellow means caution, red means dangerous conditions and no swimming, and black means the beach is closed. Flags change with the weather, so look for them when you arrive.
