The PGA TOUR is back in Los Cabos. The World Wide Technology Championship takes over El Cardonal at Diamante, in Cabo San Lucas, from November 2 to 8, 2026, with the four official rounds on Thursday to Sunday, November 5 to 8. It’s a special edition, too: the tournament is celebrating 20 years as Mexico’s pioneering PGA TOUR event.

The field has 120 professionals playing 72 holes of stroke play for a $6,000,000 USD purse, with $1,080,000 for the winner and 500 FedExCup Fall points on the line.

The course

El Cardonal is the first golf course designed by Tiger Woods, and the second championship course at Diamante, the private resort on the Pacific side of Cabo San Lucas. Visit Los Cabos says Woods took his inspiration from the old Southern California courses he grew up on, so the idea is strategy and options on every hole rather than pure length. It plays as a par 72, with the Pacific, natural arroyos and native dunes all around. Our Los Cabos golf course directory has the other courses in the area if you’d like to play a round yourself.

What happens during the week

The first days are for practice and Pro-Am rounds. According to Visit Los Cabos, tournament week also brings activities for junior golfers, live music, a Fan Zone, fitness events and the return of Golf is Gourmet, which pairs players and invited guests with local chefs. Tickets for the November 5 to 8 rounds are sold on the tournament’s official ticket site, and all sales are final.

If you can’t be there, all four rounds air on GOLF CHANNEL in the United States and on GOLF CHANNEL Latin America in Mexico and the rest of Latin America.

Twenty years in Mexico

The tournament started in February 2007 at Mayakoba, in the Riviera Maya, as the first PGA TOUR event played in Mexico. Fred Funk won that first edition in a playoff at 50 years of age. It spent 16 years on the Caribbean side before moving to Los Cabos in 2023, and this is its fourth edition at El Cardonal.

The defending champion is Ben Griffin, who closed with a 9 under par 63 last year to win by two strokes at 29 under par, the tournament’s scoring record. Before him, Erik van Rooyen won in 2023 with an eagle on the 18th hole, and Austin Eckroat won in 2024. Viktor Hovland is the only player to win it twice (2020 and 2021).
