Dive into the riches of Cabo San Lucas

Dive into the riches of Cabo San Lucas

Dive into the riches of Cabo San Lucas

Whether you are a beginner or expert, Cabo San Lucas offers one of the most extraordinary experiences for those interested in scuba diving mostly due to the impressive variety of marine life found in the Los Cabos area together with a very interesting geographical distribution that make this destination one of the best in the world for diving and snorkeling.

In this incredible swim along the beachfront, depths and waters of Cabo San Lucas you'll be able to enjoy and discover underwater canyons, sea fans, underwater waterfalls of sand, black coral colonies, beautiful schools of fish, giant manta rays, sea turtles, sea lions, hammerhead sharks and live coral reefs that harbor over 350 species and many other beauties that cannot be experienced anywhere else in the world. This is why divers from many different countries come together in this wonderful place.

Cabo Pulmo is a reef that is one of the only three living coral reefs in North America. This place of unparalleled beauty and importance is a natural treasure that every year attracts thousands of tourists, also one of the reasons why it is so vitally important to preserve, so that everyone will have the opportunity to enjoy this natural wonder.

The Sea of ??Cortez and its abundant waters offer a variety of incredible places to dive. In some cases these places are not freely accessible to everyone, but if you are a certified diver the most complicated part will be to decide which of all these unique places you will explore.

One such place is the Abismo (The Abyss), which is approximately 30 meters from the Arc at Land's End, and the Sand “Waterfalls” which are located in the Cabo San Lucas Bay and are one of the deepest falls in the world. It is also important to say that  the latter were made public by Jacques Cousteau.

Pelican Rock (Roca del Pelícano), is another attractive place to dive. It is only a 20 min. boat trip from Cabo San Lucas and Punta Gorda. Only 3 miles from San Jose del Cabo. This beach is a bit solitary and taking into account that the surf is quite strong, it is important to be careful and not dive there alone.

Another beautiful dive spot is El Chileno (the Chilean) which lies between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, an ideal place to dive or snorkel mainly due to the transparent and calm waters.

Finally we can also mention places like Boca Vinorama, Playa del Amor, hidden behind the famous Arch (Land's End). El Medano beach is the most popular beach in Los Cabos; Costa Azul and Barco Varado are also interesting dive areas, but they have strong tides and you should take some precautions.

If you decide to visit any of these places, the most recommendable season is during summer, mainly because the water temperature is fabulous and there is excellent visibility, helping you to enjoy and discover more in the depths.

As was mentioned in the beginning of this article, Cabos San Lucas offers a wide and diverse range of options for those that love diving and snorkeling, so do not miss out of the opportunity to visit any of the many beautiful natural treasures available in the area.
