Climate

Los Cabos sits on the Tropic of Cancer and has a pleasant sub-tropical climate of warm days and cool nights. Average daytime temperatures are 78º F (26º C); evenings are warmer in the summer months.

Summers are hot during the months of August through October, with daytime temperatures in the high 90sº F, cooling to 75 to 80º F at night. Winter temperatures range from 70º F in the daytime to the low 60sº F at night.

Los Cabos is surrounded by desert, and receives little rain and lots of sunshine. The storm season is June to October, with September the rainiest month. November to April, the peak tourist season, offers warm days and fresh nights. Spring and fall are hotter, with the occasional tropical storm from July to October.

Los Cabos is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez (Gulf of California), with the Sierra de La Laguna range cutting through the center of the Cape Region at the end of the peninsula. This produces microclimates on either side of the peninsula, where temperatures in the Sea of Cortez and Pacific Ocean can vary by as much as 15º F. In the summer months, the Sea of Cortez climate is more humid and hotter than the Pacific side; in the winter months, the Pacific side is considerably cooler than the Sea of Cortez. San Jose del Cabo and the East Cape have warmer summers, while Cabo San Lucas has colder and windier winter weather.
